Only Hours Left

This past Friday Hilary and I went to her doctor for her last appointment before the baby. Hilary's blood pressure was still a little high but not enough to cause any alarms. The doctor examined Hilary and said that everything looked great and that she was 1.5 cm dilated and that with the condition of everything that she would recommend we go ahead and induce Hilary in the next few days. She set us up with the appointment office and we were given 12/19/10 at 9:00 to go into the hospital to get the process started. More than likely he should be born some time on 12/20/10. Now that we aren't measuring in days anymore we are reduced to measuring in hours until he gets here look for an update soon with pictures of baby boy Outen.

17 Days and Baby Names

We rapidly approaching D-day. Hilary is due in roughly 17 days give or take a day. The main problem with this is 1. The baby's room is a wreck. 2. We have no idea what we are doing. 3. We still have no name.
The name game has become quite a task. I can honestly say that we have no shortage of suggestions. We have had some very good suggestions to some really odd ones. We have a couple we are going to take to the hospital, look at him and go from there. If anyone is interested and didn't know she will be delivering at Cobb General in Austell. We also go later today to the last sonogram to find out which position the baby is turned and if he is in breach or not. So please say a prayer for us if you can around 11:00 today, it sure couldn't hurt. Until next time....Thank you for all your love, support and prayers it hasn't gone unnoticed.

November

Well it is a new month and its time for the baby. We are well into the last days before Baby Outen gets here. This is going to be an emotional month of ups and downs. The room isnt ready yet and we have no idea what we are getting into but we have stuff. The baby shower went over well we saw alot of family we havent seen in a while and some family we've seen alot. There are still a few things we still need to get for the baby but not much. We would like to thank everyone for all the gifts for making our lives easier and for all the thoughts and prayers.
The name delima also has began its final decent. We circled the runway until we are running out of gas and its time to land this big ol' bird and name the baby. There arent many choices yet so put up your tray tables turn off all your electronics and lets get this thing on the ground go through the usual customs and get us a baby name.

October

There are few words for the last few weeks. As most of you know Hilary's mother passed away on October 7th. It has been a long past month that ended very shortly. Life has really slowed down in the past week. We are trying to get all of our ducks in a row and get ready for the baby. I know alot of you have been asking about Hilary. She is doing about how she looks, the days are slowly going by and she is taking it day by day. There are some days that are better than others. She did go to the doctor last week and they gave her the all clear and told her that her blood pressure is slightly high but nothing we cant deal with. I know we've said it alot but we cannot thank all of you enough for all of the flowers, food, well wishes, and prayers. You all mean so much to us and we are so very fortunate to have all of you.

Tough Times

Since the last blog entry, the last 30 or so days have been very tough and trying times. For those of you who don't know my mother-in-law, Gloria, has had a rough patch that has no end in sight. A little more than 3 weeks ago she was diagnosed with endometrial cancer. Since being diagnosed she has had a couple of stints in Douglas General Hospital and is fighting a number of things. The cancer has spread to a few other places and shes developed a urinary tract infection. It appears she will be at Douglas General until Monday - Tuesday of the coming week. So please keep her in your prayers we can sure use all we can get.  We believe that with enough prayer and good med's we can have her back in no time.
As for Hilary and baby Outen there isn't much change. There still isn't paint on the wall in the nursery. The baby bed is still in the box and a baby shower is set to kick off on November 6th in Douglasville. On a lighter note everyone with the exception of myself has seen baby boy Outen kick in Hilary's stomach. Even strangers here in the hospital have seen it. I keep telling her that she is making all of this up so i will have to help around the house more. I guess we will call her bluff around December.
To pile on the already overload that is going on please also keep our friends Paige and Blakely in mind. They recently were on their way home from Florida on vacation and were caught in a rain storm, spun off the road hitting 2 trees with the side of the car and then stopping by hitting one head on. They both are OK and didn't have any really major injury's in the wreck but did in all of the confusion lose their dog Layla. The door came open and she took off across the highway into the woods and hasn't been seen since. They have been looking for her non-stop as much as they can putting up flyer's, making phone calls, and sending out emails so if you can all keep them in your thoughts I'm sure they would appreciate it, because Layla is their daughter.
With all of this going on in our lives we are taking it day by day and trusting that God will not put anything in our paths that he he knows we cannot handle. Thank you all for the well wishes, prayers and help. We have a long road ahead that with family, friends, and even some strangers I believe we will all make it together. Thanks everyone.

P.S. dont tell Gloria I added the photo of her because she would kill me ! for those of you that know her  she's never been one to take photos.

Island Time

It has been brought to my attention that I am "slacking" on the blog. I guess you could say that or you could say I am still on island time. On Baby watch 2010 there is really no new news he is on island time too. Hilary did tell me yesterday that she felt "him" hiccup for the first time. She didn't know what it was at first and was talking to Dana ( her boss ) and they determined it was the hiccups. In the poorest timed event ever Hilary's Company has decided to switch insurance company's on us half way through the pregnancy. Crappy Kaiser is now gone and we are now looking forward to Aetna. Yesterday I learned that the doctor Hilary wanted to use in Douglasville said that they would take her on as a new patient. So we are excited about that. A few of you know we went on vacation last week to the beautiful Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. It was absolutely beautiful. We left on Sunday August 22 and came home Saturday August 28. It was only about a 3 1/2 hour direct flight from Atlanta. It was a 3rd world country so the towns getting to our resort were very impoverished. Once we got to our hotel we realized the travel agency bus driver dropped us off at the wrong hotel ( the Riu Palace ) but so we took a cab to the other Riu ( Riu Macao ) and turned out that was the wrong one as well, but they were more than happy to move our reservations ( from the Riu Bambu ) and allow us to stay in an upgraded room for free! From there we did as little as possible i think we slept 12 hours a day, ate 3 times a day sometimes 4 and the rest of the time was spent lying on the beach and walking around the resorts taking photos. If you would like to check out the photos they are located on my facebook page

133 Days to go

Yesterday morning Hilarys doctor appointment varified what over half of you already knew. We got into the cool dark room and they applied the gel to Hilarys stomach area and we began to look at the baby on the computer screen. One of the first things we noticed was the baby was sucking its thumb and with Hilary working in a dental office this will be something we know we have to cut out. As a joke I said get your thumb out of your mouth and as if the baby heard me the thumb came out. It was great. With a little more watching  and waiting on the doctor to take measurements without saying the doctor went down to the lower region and I could tell we had ourselves a BOY.  Secretly I was elated and screaming in my head. About 5 minutes later the doctor says well " ITS A BOY." and varified what I thought we had seen.
So without any further waiting its time to come up with some names. We have several different names we are considering but we are just waiting on the perfect one to come along. We arent sure if we are going to do a family name, common name or an out of the ordinary name. I think this will be the most debated thing we deal with until the baby gets here. So wish us luck because I get the feeling we will need it.

Kicking and Screaming

Well this past Saturday (yesterday) was our annual camping trip. While I was out Hilary said she had her first few feelings of the baby kicking. Just more signs this is becoming more real day by day. There are only 5 more days until we find out the sex of the baby. There are alot of people guessing and the majority of the guesses are BOY. Hilary has also reported feeling "gassy", which we are told that is a sign that the baby will have a full head of hair I guess only time will tell on that. So get in your last minute votes in and we will reveal the results this Friday.
On a side note Roxy has been showing huge signs of improving. She has been up and playing almost everyday. Today she decided she would do like most girls and let Murphy win in the little game they were playing. So things look to be on the up and up with her and we are looking forward to having her around for years to come.

July 16th Blood testing

Hil went in for some blood testing and normal check up stuff today. They told her that her blood work looked great from last time, and her blood pressure is great. They listened to the heartbeat for a good while the Midwife told her that all the scratching noise she heard in the back ground was the baby moving around, she also commented that the baby is very active. Her foot is a little swollen because she has a plantars wart on the bottom of her foot that is going to have to be removed next Monday to prevent an infection. If you have ever had one of those you know how painful it is and just add pregnant into the mix. Pregnant + Plantars wart = miserable. The blood work taken today was to find out if there is a chance of any birth defects. I know we have prayed about this alot so we believe it will come out clean because its not in our hands anymore. The midwife also told Hil that there is a chance of a false positve so if the email results say positive dont be alarmed she will simply have to go to a specialist for follow up testing. Hopefully there will be more GOOD news of the test results soon to follow.

Save the Date

Hilarys has a doctor appointment for August 6 to find out the sex of the baby. We are very excited and anxious at the same time. Although we dont care boy or girl like any normal person you have to take a chance at the 50/50 of boy and girl. Although Hilary says she can only think of boys names she is going with GIRL as her official vote. I myself am going with BOY as my vote. if anyone else would like to vote please feel free to leave it in the comments section. Also, an update on Roxy girl she is still like she was last week and seems to be improving everyday. She is very playful and yelling at Murphy every chance she gets. See you next time.

No News Is Good News.

Hilary went to the doctor today and took a 3 hour Glucose test. Luckily she only had to take one of the nasty drinks the doctors use to test with. On her way home she felt a little queezy but when she stopped for food and shortly after recieved a phone call from the doctors office telling her she does NOT have diabetes  her sugar level in the first 2 hours are normal but the last hour was 42 which is really low. Also, Roxy seems to be reacting well to the new food and is in good spirits. She is very active and extremly vocal so keep the prayers up and i know she will continue to get better because of them.

ROXY GIRL UPDATE

DOCTOR LEATHERS CALLED TODAY AT LUNCH AND WE DISCUSSED OUR OPTIONS ON OUR LITTLE GIRL. HE SAID THAT THERE ARE 3 OPTIONS. THEY ARENT VERY GOOD.

OPTION 1 : SURGERY WHICH IS $3000, ISNT REALLY AN OPTION.

OPTION 2: A STRICT DIET ON A LITTLE MORE EXPENSIVE FOOD. WE WOULD KNOW IN ABOUT 2 WEEKS IF ITS GOING TO WORK. THE GOOD NEWS WITH THIS IS THAT WE CHANGED HER DIET A WHILE BACK PER DOCTORS ORDERS AND YOU COULD TELL A CHANGE IN HER BEHAVIOR.

OPTION 3: IM NOT EVEN GOING TO TELL YOU WHAT OPTION 3 IS BECAUSE OPTION 2 IS GOING TO WORK.

HE SAID SHE ISNT REALLY IN A WHOLE LOT OF PAIN SHE JUST HAS A "DRUNK" FEELING ALL THE TIME AND HER LIVER WILL NEVER GET BETTER BUT THE DIET COULD PROLONG HER LIFE AND WE CAN BE SELFISH AND KEEP HER WITH US FOR ATLEAST A COUPLE OF MORE YEARS. HE SAID IT IS NEVER GOING TO BE BACK THE WAY IT WAS IT WILL AND EVENTUALLY GET WORSE AS TIME GOES BY. SO IF YOU CAN PRAY FOR HER WE SURE WOULD APPRICIATE IT. WE LOVE HER SHE IS ONE OF THE FAMILY.

Day 1

Welcome to our site. This is Day 1 of  our new blog. Just to get everyone up to speed this is where we stand. As of  this coming Sunday ( July 4th ) Hilary will be 17 weeks along. She had a doctors appointment on June 25th where we heard our babys heart beat for the first time. Well we wont be sure of the sex until sometime mid to late July. According to my Aunt Becky if its fast...its a boy. The heart beat sounded fast to me but, the only thing i care about is 10 fingers, 10 toes, and healthy. Hilary also had to do a glucose test. The results came in by email and we found out her sugar levels are high. Because her levels are high she has to go next week and do a 3 hour glucose test. I need everyone to please pray that we get good results. I will post updates about this as soon as new developments come in.
As some of you know by now our first child ( the 4 legged one ) Roxy has been diagnosed with a liver shunt. We wont find out any new information until sometime this week when I talk back to the doctor. We dont know much about it other than its a condition she has had since birth. From what we understand they are formed in the womb and its part of the puppys growth and when they are born it slowly goes away. Hers has not closed up and gone anywhere. Some cases of these have been fixed by diet and surgery is out of the question due to the cost and risks. A typical Surgery can cost between $3000 - $5000 and are not guaranteed to cure it. Our little girl is only 5 and way to young to deal with this. so please pray for her as well.
